The challenge with 4.9 is to integrate the new classes introduced gradually in the core sources in order to have an even cleaner code (especially around the taxonomy). The pace of output does not facilitate the task but poetry has no limits! Of course, there are other popular multilingual extensions, but our choice is to continue development to further deepen our knowledge of the WordPress core. Hardly tested, another version is announced this summer (4.6). Now xili-language 2.21 is compatible with WP 4.4. This recent version of WP introduces new tables (meta of taxonomies) et new features (REST API). The future version of xili-language during 2016 will incorporate these new elements for a better management of datas (mainly language properties).
